Everyday Eats: Friday, January 23rd, 2015

Woohoo!  It’s Friday – a sentiment I can now happily share with all traditionally-employed people, having once again resumed a “normal” schedule.  I’m so glad I only worked two days this week… gotta ease back into it!  And I’m ALREADY coming down with a cold, or a sinus infection, or something.  Yuck!  I made it through the work day with copious amounts of hot tea and sugar free cough drops.  And as soon as I publish this post, I’m taking my sweet ass to bed to try to sleep it off!

I kinda-sorta IF’d today.  I didn’t actually eat anything prior to my noon lunch, but I did ingest a few tablespoons of heavy cream.  I know people are on the fence about whether or not taking bulletproof coffee during the morning counts as a fast or not.  I don’t even care, that hot black tea with cream sure did help soothe my sore throat!  I did finish both my lunch and dinner (and a snack) within the allotted 12-8 window.

Lunch

Leftovers for lunch: cajun-rubbed, bacon-wrapped chicken thighs with green beans and roasted carrots.  I didn't eat the yogurt after all.  And those sugar free sparkling waters are delicious.

Snack

Forgive the carbs, but I wanted some extra vitamin C in the form of mandarin oranges with a quarter cup of cottage cheese.

Nutrition

Hit my protein goal and stayed under my carb limit, but had a bit too much fat and thusly inflated my calorie count.  I blame those damn hot wings.  I didn’t have a good enough idea of how calorically dense they were when I ate them, and I had to drench them in ranch because they were so damn hot.  I would’ve eaten a damn container of sour cream with a spoon if one had been available!

It’s also worth noting that the restaurant we ate at, Woody’s, doesn’t list their nutritional info online… so I’m just saying for comparison’s sake that they were like the wings at Buffalo Wild Wings.  It’s probably close enough to not be off too badly.  Still, I’ve eaten at a pretty large deficit every other day this week, so I should be fine.

Tomorrow I’ll probably make pizza or bunless burgers for dinner.  I’m also craving some more of what I’ve started calling “peanut butter fluff.”  After the outcry it got on my Instagram, I’m going to need to make it and photograph it so I can put the incredibly simple recipe on here.  At least that’s a pretty good excuse for an indulgence, huh? :P
