Today I tried to make a new thing… mashed radishes. I’ve heard that it’s possible. I was having the worst craving for roast beef and mashed potatoes, so I busted out some radishes to try to whip up some fauxtatoes.
Much like my experiments in mashed cauliflower, it did not work.
However, the taste was much better (cauliflower = ass). The texture was just off. I think I may try oven-roasting some radishes instead, bacon-roasted veggies style. I bet that would be good!
Oh, and today was a lifting day. Usually we go MWF but this week we’re doing TTh and maybe Saturday. So after lifting fasted, I was ravenous. This feeling of emptiness followed me throughout the day.
Spoiler alert: I did not eat fewer calories today!
Like I said, definitely did not stay below my calorie count today. I’ve just felt ravenous. I don’t know if it’s from the lifting, or from detoxing from carbs, or what. I tried to stay a little lower on the carb count today, but I let myself eat more. This also isn’t counting the gravy, which I didn’t really know how to calculate because it was leftover juices and some heavy cream. I didn’t use too much – maybe two tablespoons? It probably wasn’t too much, maybe around 100-200 calories.
At any rate, I hit my protein goal, which is a must on lifting days. I also stayed below my carb count, so I’m happy. Hopefully things will even out a bit more tomorrow!
