Everyday Eats: Wednesday, February 11th, 2015

Good evening, everyone!  Hope you had a great day – this blog sure did!  Welcome, new folks!  Hope you sit around and stay awhile.  :D

Last night I was exhausted.  My boo is still recovering from a concussion he received this weekend, so he didn’t need to go to the gym.  I took that as an excuse to stay home, myself, and rest up a bit.  It felt great to not have to stress about getting all that work in, then come home to eat dinner and shower and not have time to do anything before bed.  I needed the day off!  But it’s back in action for me tomorrow.  Gotta keep building those muscles!

Probably because I just sat on my ass and relaxed last night, I wasn’t very hungry today.  Although… it might also be the fact that I ate a TON of protein today.  I’ll have to experiment and see if higher protein numbers = satiety for me.  I look forward to any experiment that involves eating copious amounts of meat (that’s what she said).

Oh, and before I get any censure here for my lunch – I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, I view certain higher carb whole foods like beans and sweet potatoes to be an “if it fits your macros” type deal.  I know that eating a serving of those things will not kick me out of ketosis, and it doesn’t seem to spike cravings.  And I tend to eat “keto lite” anyway, around 30ish grams of carbs daily.  So you will see them featured here occasionally!

Lunch

Dinner

Taco salad:  baby spinach topped with 6oz ground beef, shredded cheese, salsa, guacamole, and sour cream.  Oh my god why don't I make this more often?

Dude, I blew my protein goal out of the water.  130g… crazy!  I was right at my carb limit with 31g net.  Tomorrow will probably be another higher carb day as Meemaw picked me up barbecue and baked beans for dinner tonight, not knowing that I’d already eaten it once today!  So it’s going to work with me for lunch :)  I ate right at about 1200cal today and didn’t really feel the desire to have more fat.  It’s past my bedtime right now and I’m still perfectly satiated.  I guess we will see how I feel in the morning!
